The Batpod is Batman's motorcycle. Unlike the Batmobile, Batarang, Batsignal and Batcave, the Batpod has the "bat" prefix characteristic of Batman's equipment in the comics. It is embedded as the two front wheels of the Batmobile, and aligns itself as it is launched. Unlike a standard motorcycle, the driver lays horizontally along its chassis.

The Batpod has the following unusual functions:
- Grappling hook launchers
- Gun turrets
- Ability to swivel chassis upside down when upright
- Ability to drive sideways with latitudinal rotation of wheels
Behind the scenes[]
The Batpod's launch was too complicated even for Christopher Nolan's naturalistic style to depict with real life objects, so it was rendered in computer generated imagery.
