The murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne occurred when their son Bruce was eight years old.
Overview[]
Thomas, Martha and Bruce exit a theatre because it contains images that Bruce finds disturbing due to his fear of bats. In walking through the narrows they are confronted by Joe Chill, an impoverished and nervous man wielding a gun. Chill demands Thomas' wallet and Martha's necklace. He gets impatient and points the gun at Martha, prompting Thomas to move in front of her to protect her. Chill shoots Thomas and then Martha. Bruce and Chill exchange a glance before Chill flees.
